Sloan Steps Up With TriCip

10 April 2019

Sloan Lubrication Systems has debuted what it considers to be a unique lubrication offering aimed at making over-lubrication and all its associated problems memories of yesteryear.

The new product, known as TriCip, is an integrated system and specific lubricant that work together to maintain an adequate lubricant film thickness on reciprocating compressor wear surfaces.

This combination can reduce lubrication fluid usage and valve replacements by more than 90% and 75%, respectively. Per compressor, oil consumption reduction can equate to 5 to 15 gpd (19 to 57 L/d). On a six-throw compressor, that amount could be more than 3000 gallons (11,356 L) a year, said C.J. Sloan, the company’s chief technology officer.

“This has been a couple years in the making,” said Steve Battaglia, vice president of sales for Sloan Lubrication Systems. “It is something we foresee being the ‘go-to’ system (for lubrication needs).”

The TriCip looks like a standard control cabinet amidst compression equipment, but under the hood tells a different story.
