Siemens Supplying Compression For Texas Expansion Project
29 April 2020
Siemens Gas and Power has received a contract to supply two SGT-400 gas turbine compression packages for Midcoast Energy’s CJ Express pipeline expansion project in East Texas.
The Siemens SGT-400 packages will provide a total of 39,000 hp (29,082 kW) for an expansion at an existing compressor station. The SGT-400 features a modular configuration, dry low emissions (DLE) combustion technology and a power range from 14,750 to 20,115 hp (10,999 to 15,000 kW).
WHC Energy Services, supported by Universal Pegasus International, will be the engineering, procurement and contracting provider for the pipeline expansion project.
The SGT-400 gas turbine will be packaged at Siemens Gas and Power’s Telge Road facility in Houston, Texas, while the compressors will be built at the company’s facility in Olean, New York.
The first gas turbine compression trains will be shipped later this year to support commercial operation for early 2021.
