Succeeding In A Time Of ‘Rampant Change’ – Take Five With Arja Talakar

Arja Talakar was named CEO of Siemens Oil & Gas, effective April 1. Talakar began his career with Siemens in 1996 as a rotating equipment and automation systems engineer and has since held several roles of increasing responsibility across the globe.

Prior to taking his current role, he was responsible for Siemens Saudi Arabia, and together with his team, he developed close ties and strategic partnerships with leading global oil and gas, energy and petrochemicals companies, and succeeded in securing and executing large infrastructure projects, Siemens said.

Talkar’s new role comes at as energy markets continue to evolve, as does Siemens. Siemens decided to carve out and then spin off the Gas and Power Operating Co., most likely by late 2020.

What are you telling customers—and potential customers—about that news?

Spinning off the Gas and Power Operating Company into an independent, stock-listed energy company will give us the agility we need to support our customers effectively in a period of rampant change within the sector, and society at large.
