2024 World Demolition Award Winners

Contract of the Year under US$1 million Award

Joint winners: Demex and Priestly Demolition

Demex and Priestly Demolition shared the accolade in recognition of their outstanding projects that exemplified precision and excellence within a budget under one million USD.

Safety and Training Award

Winner: Brandenburg

The judges commended Brandenburg’s proactive approach to safety, emphasizing its training programs that prepare workers for unexpected challenges. Their swift execution of an emergency response plan was highlighted as a key factor in their success.

Urban Demolition Award

Winner: Delta Group

Delta Group was honored for a complex urban project that demanded innovative solutions. The judges praised the team’s ability to navigate significant challenges and deliver a project with exceptional efficiency.

Civils Demolition Award

Winner: Delsan-A.I.M

Delsan-A.I.M’s execution of the Champlain Bridge project received accolades for its extraordinary scale, timely completion, and adherence to stringent environmental regulations. The judges described the project as “simply exceptional,” emphasizing the lack of accidents and ahead-of-schedule delivery.

Industrial Demolition Award

Winner: Liberty International

Liberty International’s work on the Argyle Diamond Mine project set a new standard in industrial demolition. The judges highlighted the project’s advanced methodologies and its successful handling of remote, challenging conditions.

Innovation, Plant and Equipment Award

Winner: KTEG

KTEG was recognised for the KMC 1200s Demolition Excavator, which aligns with industry demands for safer and more durable machinery. The judges acknowledged KTEG’s significant contributions to enhancing equipment performance.

Innovation Tools and Attachments Award

Winner: Lekatech

The Leka Toras 35 by Lekatech stood out for its impact on reducing consumable usage, earning it praise as a valuable innovation in the industry.

Contract of the Year over US$1 million Award

Winner: Priestly Demolition

Priestly Demolition secured this award for a project that showcased the development of new methodologies to ensure comprehensive safety and environmental protection, both for workers and the surrounding ecosystem.

Recycling and Environmental Award

Winner: Colemans

Colemans’ project demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the circular economy, earning it the judges’ admiration as a “very worthy winner” for its dedication to sustainability.

Explosive Demolition Award

Winner: Liberty Industrial

Liberty Industrial’s Northern Producer Decommissioning Project in the UK overcame challenges such as limited data and stringent facility protection requirements. The judges recognized its successful execution despite an aggressive timeline.

Collaboration in Demolition Award

Winner: P. Olesen

P. Olesen’s efforts during the Stock Exchange fire in Denmark illustrated the power of teamwork. The judges praised the collaboration of four demolition contractors who worked tirelessly to protect Denmark’s cultural heritage.

New Entrant Award

Winner: MGL Demolition

MGL Demolition was named best new entrant at the 2024 awards, having received the highest technical, safety and environmental scores of any newcomer in this year’s raft of award submissions.  

2024 ‘Best of the Best’ World Demolition Award

Winner: Delsan-A.I.M

Delsan-A.I.M was crowned the overall 2024 Best of the Best for their exemplary work on the Champlain Bridge project. This award acknowledged their unmatched execution in terms of engineering, safety protocols, environmental conservation, and sustainability.
