Himoinsa recruits lighting tower manager
08 November 2024
Spanish power and lighting tower specialist Himoinsa has appointed Iain Curran as its business develop manager for lighting towers.
Curran has more than 20 years experience in the power generation sector, including several years with Atlas Copco’s Power Technique business area, which sells gensets, lighting towers and pumps.
Himoinsa said his knowledge of the rental market and experience in introducing hybrid units to the UK market “will be crucial to driving the company’s growth plan in the lighting tower segment mainly in the EMEA region, where his responsability will be strongest.”
The manufacturer, which is part of the Yanmar group, said it estimated the global portable lighting market would be valued at around €1.5 billion annually by 2027.
The appointment of Curran is part of the company’s strategy for growing its lighting tower business. That included the opening in late 2023 of a lighting tower factory in Europe with a production capacity of 5,000 units a year. That facility can produce diesel, hybrid and electric lighting towers.
Its manufacturing plants in Asia and the Americas can also produce lighting towers.
“It’s a pleasure to be part of Himoinsa and the Mobile Power project, where I’m confident that lighting tower products will play a key role in the company’s growth”, said Curran.
“We have the experience, production capacity, and a complete portfolio of high-quality products - everything we need to become market leaders. I appreciate the trust placed in me and take on the responsibility of contributing to the company’s growth objectives.”
Himoinsa’s lighting range includes the HBOX+ (diesel and hybrid versions) and the HBOX+ 48VDC, as well as the HCOMPACT+ models. Existing versions, such as the AS4006, have been updated with LED technology and Stage V engines, along with other adaptations for specific markets such as Australia, Germany and the UK.
