GMRC plans to reschedule Gas Machinery Conference

Premium Content

Event was called off due to Hurricane Milton

Leadership of the Gas Machinery Research Council plans to reschedule the Gas Machinery Conference to January or February of 2025.

The event was scheduled for Oct. 6-9 in Tampa, Florida, but the event was cancelled over concerns of Hurricane Milton.

The GMRC released the following statement:

Dear GMC Attendees and Exhibitors,

Thank you for your valuable feedback in the recent survey regarding the rescheduling of the Gas Machinery Conference. The majority of respondents have expressed a preference to hold the conference in January or February of 2025. In response, the Board has evaluated these results and is currently sourcing potential venues for the event in a generally convenient location. We are considering a tabletop exhibit format instead of a traditional exhibit hall, prioritizing meaningful interaction alongside high-impact technical content.

We expect the sourcing process to take approximately two weeks, at which point the Board will finalize and communicate the decision. Look for additional communication the week of November 11, 2024. Once the details are confirmed, you will have the option to apply your registration towards:

  • The rescheduled 2024 event in early 2025,
  • The regularly scheduled 2025 GMC in Louisville on September 28, or
  • Request a full refund.

In the meantime, we will be contacting the presenters to explore virtual training options. For those who remain registered for the reschedule conference in 1Q25, we are excited to offer free access to virtual sessions from willing presenters before the end of the year. This will allow attendees to obtain necessary Professional Development Hours (PDH) ahead of the rescheduled conference.

We greatly appreciate your patience, collaboration, and continued support as we work diligently to ensure a successful and impactful event for all participants. We will keep you informed as the process progresses.

Thank you again for your partnership, and we look forward to delivering a valuable experience for our members.
