Ferrovial targets data centres with new appointment

Spain-based infrastructure company Ferrovial has appointed a new CEO of its digital infrastructure division as it targets further data centre growth.

The company announced the appointment of András Szakonyi to the role, with the aim of expanding its presence in the high-growth sector.

Szakonyi spent 21 years in multiple senior leadership roles at Iron Mountain (IRM) based in Boston, USA, focusing on data centres and information management services. He played a key role in building Iron Mountain’s data centre business in his role as global COO. 

Since 2020, he has been a member of the supervisory board and audit committee of Magyar Telekom (Subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom), a Hungarian information and communications technology company.
