The EFRC was founded in June 1999 as a non-profit association to support European users, manufacturers, and scientists working with reciprocating compressors in terms of technology, exchange of experience, formation, and enforcement of standards and precompetitive research. Since then, its geographical reach has grown to include all of Europe and the United States. The EFRC acts as a “forum of ideas,” providing the opportunity for members to exchange ideas to further reciprocating compressor technology.
