New Natural Gas Solutions & Services unit brings FW Murphy and Cook Compression’s U.S. aftermarket operations under unified leadership

Dover Precision Components has brought FW Murphy and Cook Compression’s U.S. aftermarket operations under its new Natural Gas Solutions & Services business. The two operations will remain independent under unified leadership.

Dover Precision Components has established a Natural Gas Solutions & Services (NGSS) business, bringing together FW Murphy and Cook Compression’s U.S. aftermarket operations under a unified management structure.

The new business will be led by Levent Caglar, although FW Murphy and Cook Compression U.S. Aftermarket will retain their separate identities and continue to operate independently.

The move combines complementary capabilities in compressor controls, monitoring, reciprocating compressor technology, aftermarket services and equipment lifecycle management.

Dover Precision Components President Marcell Ulrichs said the formation of NGSS builds on the company’s acquisition of FW Murphy in 2023 and reflects its commitment to the U.S. natural gas compression market.

“The acquisition of FW Murphy back in 2023 was a demonstration of the strong commitment DPC has to the US natural gas sector,” Ulrichs said.

According to Ulrichs, the new business creates a platform combining technologies and services intended to address changing customer requirements across the compression equipment lifecycle.

FW Murphy provides engine and compressor control systems, monitoring and related technologies used in natural gas compression applications. Cook Compression supplies reciprocating compressor components, including valves, sealing technologies and other equipment, along with aftermarket repair and maintenance services.

The new structure brings those capabilities under common leadership while maintaining the businesses’ separate operations.

Caglar said the company sees opportunities associated with growing natural gas demand, LNG infrastructure development and increasing electricity requirements from data centers and artificial intelligence applications.

“Together, our capabilities create a stronger platform for growth and customer value, helping operators improve performance, lower costs, and strengthen safety, reliability, and environmental outcomes across the equipment lifecycle,” Caglar said.

The announcement did not identify specific integrated products or services planned under NGSS, nor did it detail changes to existing manufacturing, engineering or aftermarket service facilities.

Dover Precision Components is part of Dover Corp. Its brands include Waukesha Bearings, Bearings Plus, Inpro/Seal, Cook Compression and FW Murphy. The company supplies bearings, sealing systems, controls, compressor components and aftermarket services for rotating and reciprocating machinery across the energy and industrial markets.
