CIC’s new scoring system speeds up certification process

Premium Content

Crane operators striving for OSHA-recognized certification now have access to faster exam results, thanks to the Crane Institute Certification (CIC) and their new Computer Auto Scoring system. Operators can now find out whether they’ve passed the required practical exam within hours of taking it.

In the U.S., crane operators must be certified by an accredited entity in order to operate cranes on construction sites where the equipment can lift 2,000 pounds or more. Certification requires passing both a written exam, which tests knowledge, and a practical exam, which evaluates skill in operating a crane. OSHA mandates this certification to ensure safe crane operation in the construction industry.

CIC’s latest innovation, the Computer Auto Scoring system, significantly speeds up the certification process. After taking the practical exam, crane operators can now receive their results within just hours, rather than waiting days or weeks.
