Capstone Designates Microturbine Packages For Oman

Capstone Turbine Corp. received an order for two microturbine skid packages from an oil and gas exploration and production company in Oman. Pipeline Supply Co. (PSC), Capstone’s distributor in Oman and Qatar, secured the order, which will be commissioned in spring 2021.

Each self-contained skid package, which features two C65 Capstone microturbines, will operate on high-pressure sour gas extracted from hydrocyclone systems at oil and gas processing stations. High pressure gas from the hydrocyclones at each site will be cleaned and conditioned before use in the microturbine system.

The power generated from the microturbines will be fed back into the customer’s low voltage power grid, Capstone said.
