Annual GCA conference to return to Galveston

The 2022 conference of the Gas Compressor Association will start March 29 with an opening reception and will conclude on April 1 with the annual membership meeting. The conference will take place at Moody Gardens in Galveston, Texas.

The conference will feature two educational sessions that run concurrently on the morning of March 30. Session A will include a presentation on differential pressure short stroking (DPSS) of the compressor divider block lubrication system, presented by independent compressor consultant Bill Taylor. In the afternoon, there will be a session entitled, “Air-cooled heat exchangers: a look inside the black box.” Michael Garner, CEO of Eads Cooling Solutions will present.

Education Session B will have a presentation from James Shelton, of the Houston North OSHA area office. A second education session entitled “Recruiting and training for the next generation” will follow. That will be led by Daniel Hall, Department Chair School of Energy, Panola College, partnering with Ariel Training Center.

In the afternoon, the conference will hold one more educational session entitled, “Exceptional leadership: motivating your team to inspire action.”

The keynote speaker for the conference will be Ross Bernstein, who will make a presentation entitled, “Building relationships through life lessons of integrity and accountability from the sports world to the business world.”

The conference will hold several networking events, including golf, spa, and a Texas Hold ‘em poker tournament and a casino event with prizes valued at $250 each.

On Friday, April 1, the GCA will hold a general member and college partner breakfast, a series of committee meeting and the GCA membership meeting. Registration for the conference is here.
