Caterpillar’s holistic approach to emissions reduction

COMPRESSORtech2 recently had a chance to speak with Hassan Khalid, a senior strategy consultant at Caterpillar’s Oil and Gas Division. Khalid’s focus is on the gas compression segment, particularly on product strategy for Caterpillar’s reciprocating engines, including the G3600 and G3500 model families. Khalid discussed Caterpillar’s holistic approach to reducing emissions and costs in gas compression and highlighted the development of retrofit kits for engines like the G3600, which increase horsepower by 10% and significantly reduce methane emissions.
