Neil Gerrard, the editor of KHL Group’s Construction Briefing newsletter, received a ‘highly commended’ citation at the recent International Building Press (IBP) awards in London. The recognition was in the ‘Infrastructure/Construction Journalist of the Year’ category.
Construction Briefing publishes exclusive articles every day covering the global construction industry, reporting on topics spanning trends in contracting, safety, equipment and markets. The newsletter is sent to more than 26,000 construction professionals around the world.
In their awards citation, the judges said, “They demonstrated an excellent grasp of highly technical subjects while writing about them in an informed, accessible and pacey way. The judges were impressed with the piece on Small Nuclear Reactors. This was a fascinating and well-researched look at both the financial and technical problems of bringing the technology to market. A compelling, authoritative and hugely informative bit of journalism.”
Murray Pollok, director of content at KHL Group, said; “Neil’s deserved recognition reflects both the quality of his work and the success of the Construction Briefing since its launch in early 2023.
“It also highlights the continued investment that KHL is making in its journalism. In addition to our well-establish magazines, websites and weekly newsletters, we have launched four daily Briefings over the past 18 months, covering construction, power, equipment rental and crane and specialized transport.“
The award came in the same week that one of KHL’s articles on a major project in Saudi Arabia, written by Andy Brown, editor of International Construction, was widely quoted by Newsweek magazine.
The IBP awards are held annually in London and cover journalism in sector including architecture, building, construction and housing. For more information, see here.
