China’s Gas Output Slows

China’s natural gas production posted slower growth in October, according to information from the Xinhua news service.

Citing data from the country’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), the Xinhua report said output hit 14.6 bcmd last month. That was 8.2% ahead of 2018 totals, but  2.4% lower than September production.

In the first 10 months of the year, 142.3 bcm of natural gas were produced, up 9.3% year on year.

The country imported 6.52 million metric tons of natural gas in October, down 10.6% year on year. In the first 10 months, natural gas imports totaled 77.71 million metric tons, up 7.9% year on year.

The country’s annual natural gas output is expected to increase by over 11 bcm this year, according to the National Development and Reform Commission.
