Dresser-Rand Sending Compressor Trains To Thailand

Equipment will increase gas volume of Ratchaburi-Wang Noi pipeline

Within the Wang Noi compressor station in Thailand, three SGT-400 industrial gas turbines will each drive a Siemens barrel-type compressor.

Dresser-Rand, part of Siemens Power and Gas, will supply three gas turbine-drive turbo compressor trains for the Wang Noi compressor station in Thailand.

The compressor station, located 43.5 miles (70 km) from Bangkok, will feature three SGT-400 industrial gas turbines, each of which will drive a Siemens barrel-type STC-SV compressor.

The 15 MW turbo compressor trains will increase the gas volume of the Ratchaburi-Wang Noi pipeline by 800 MMcfd (22.6 X 106 m3/d). The gas supplied by the 96 mile (154 km) pipeline, which runs from Wang Noi to Ratchaburi, will also be used in a 1200 MW combined-cycle power plant in South Bangkok.

Samsung Engineering Co., Ltd. Will construct the station, which is expected to be completed in 2018.
